Surgery successful!

Hi All,
Amare had his surgery this morning to get his ear tubes and all went well. We had to take him in at 6:30am and fill out paperwork/help get him prepped for the procedure. We got him changed into an infant hospital gown (ties in the back, hahaha) and answered questions for the anesthesiologist. Then Gyasi went back with him when it was time to get the nasal spray that made him drowsy before they gave him the anesthesia gas. We both waited in the waiting room for about 20 minutes and his doctor came out and said that he was all done and in recovery. She said that we definitely made the right decision because when she got in there she found that both ears were really infected bad--we had just been in her office last Monday and he only had one infected and is still taking an antibiotic, which obviously wasn't working. That alone totally reaffirmed that we did the right thing! We had to wait another five minutes and then they called us back because he was coming out of the anesthesia. He was screaming mad, which they said was totally normal because they don't like that unfamiliar feeling of being "out of it" and they fight it. After about five or six minutes of us holding him he calmed down. We gave him some apple juice and then we headed home! He spent most of today napping and being a little fussy. The worst part was when he bumped his head on the corner of the couch and pierced his upper lip with his tooth and there was blood everywhere--notice that is from being a normal 10 month old, not from the surgery that morning! We'll see how he does tonight...but in the meantime, thanks for the prayers and positive energy!
