How amazing would it be to always have your best friend by your side? Imagine getting to go through life with a partner in crime, someone to keep your secrets?
How great would it be to always have a playmate that was always down to play ball, trucks, or tell stories?
I have been thinking a lot about what my boys' childhood will be like--what memories are we creating? What traditions or routines are we establishing? Through it all, I keep coming back to how lucky these guys are to have each other.
Sure, they will fight (well, they already do that...). Sure, they will compete. But they will have each other. They will have someone who will always have their back when things are scary or new.

The bond the twins have is amazing. They are so caring for each other. If Julius is crying in the other room, Adrian is straining his neck to make sure he's OK. If Adrian is upset that he ate all of his food, Julius will take something off of his plate and put it in his brother's mouth. They are so excited to see each other in the morning, eagerly waiting to get into one crib while I pick up their room so that they can "wrestle." It's so obvious that they love each other. And of course they do...they have never known the world without their brother.
From the moment they existed they had each other, snuggling (or kicking each other) for space in the womb. They snuggled in their crib during the early weeks, always comforted by that familiar presence of their "other half." They are learning everything together, side by side--how to walk, climb stairs, etc. What a cool thing...

And then there is Big Brother. The Guys clearly adore him (most of the time). Amare is a constant source of entertainment, always running around and talking a mile a minute. Amare is paving the road and breaking us in as parents. He is so smart and eager to learn. It's funny--he goes back and forth between torturing his little brothers (pinching, hitting, biting, pushing, etc) and obsessively kissing and hugging them. Ah, life with a big brother...
